If you could go back to highschool what would you have done differently?

What would've put you in a better position today?

What are some things in highschool most people should take advantage of while they can?

 

I'm in highschool. I take advantage of many of the higher level courses offered so that I can start out with some college credit.

If I could go back to freshman year (senior at the moment), I would probably be more social and not take those classes. I havn't even been too 1 party all of my highschool life. I hang out with people on xbox not in person. I've had 1 serious girlfriend. I've played countless hours of WoW, Runescape, COD, Halo, etc.... I'd rather have friends to hang out with and watch movies etc.

 

I'm in highschool. Take me out pls. I'm sooo tired all the time. :c

 

I would have actually studied...
I got good grades, but not all A*'s...If I actually studied, I could have easily achieved that.

 

I should have played more guitar and read more books instead of wasting time on runescape.


I regret a lot of the things I did (or didn't do) in highschool, but at the same time I think that those experiences made me who I am today, and I'm pretty content with the way things are currently going. I've stopped sulking about the things I should have done differently, and instead started focusing on what I need to do to make up for them.

 

^ I like that last part. For me 1. No baby mama 2. Got a better job and saved up for a car 3. Do active duty instead of guard 4. Go out with this one girl.

 

i would have studied more got better grades and been more social. It sucks now because i cant get into college. Im kind of stuck in a rut. Hopefully things will get better but i don't see it happening anytime soon. I also regret a lot of things i did/did not do. Iv pretty much much been in a depression and i have no idea what to do. So ya i would have changed sooo many things.

 

there's nothing at all i'd change about what i did throughout high school. quite happy with how it all went and where i'm at now

 

I would definitely change things, would of worked harder and revised for my final exams. Now spending the years after leaving doing what I could of done the first time round ! Learning the hard way.

 

I probably woulda smoked more weed.

 

Lose weight and actually try my hardest in wrestling.
Try harder in school instead of slacking off. I got decent grades but had little to no effort lol.

 

I don't like to look back on stuff and say "I coulda done this" or "I shouldn't have done that", the stuff I wish i'd done differently are minor and I doubt they would have effected me to badly. I've learnt from the mistakes and that puts me in a stronger position going into other stuff like work.

I did well enough to get in to uni next year, but I could have done a lot better had I not left everything to the last minute.. a few years of study and putting my head down wouldn't have hurt.

 

I did a lot of things wrong back then and I didn't take school seriously at all. I definitely would have tried harder to get better grades and actually study, stayed out of trouble and military school, not have done so many drugs, and not have ruined so many relationships. Even though I have a lot of regrets, I still don't feel like it necessarily damaged me all that much. I'm pretty content with how things are at the moment, so I can't really complain.

 

My highschool story is an odd one. Our school wasn't a normal stereotyped school when it came to me. the nerds and emos were picked on by the rich kids and jocks, nothing new there. But then there was me... No one really fucked with me, I'm a big guy, in 7th grade I was 5 foot 8 and 200 pounds. My style fit in with the "goth" kids, but I was the only one in our school. I hung around some of all of the groups, I had nerdy friends, emo friends, 1 or 2 jock friends. The only group I didn't really get along with were the rednecks and the richy preppy kids.

I was an all A student. My lowest grade ever on a paper was 90%. I got kicked out of school in 7th grade, a 180 day suspension. I went to the alternative school for the rest of 7th and 8th grade. I returned to my normal highschool where I just didn't much care for the school. I never studied, I honestly never have studied. The things we learn during class has always been enough to get me a 90%+ on any homework/tests. But my lack of interest got me a 78% attendance, which made me fail my freshman year even with all A's. Because of my attendance I was sent back to the alternative school where in the highschool they were teaching me the same shit they taught me in the middle school. so, of course I had all A's still. Boredom gave me a 32% attendance so they failed me again. So I told em they could go fuck themselves I'd rather be at home smokin pot 100% of the time than just 68%.

So i just never went back. And honestly, I can say I'm perfectly happy with my choice to this day! I am getting my GED in February and intend on having a job by march. The fact of not having a real highschool diploma or any college education doesnt effect me, because simply even as a child I always wanted to "earn" my money. I dont want to sit behind a desk doing nothing at all and make high pay, I'd much rather work my hands to the bloody bone on minimum wage, however one of the factories I plan on applying at starts at $15.00/hour so Ill be making over double minimum wage and be doing work I actually enjoy doing.

 

Stay in school!! I didn't go to high school and now I'm 23 with a wife and a one year old son, I'm making 16 dollars an hour with a mold remediation company but if I had gone to high school and probably college I'd be better off.

 

16 dollars, if ur american, is GOOD cash. minimum wage is only $7 sumthing, and 60% of americans work on minimumwage. ur in the top 40% of americans, dont bitch.

Yeah lawyers make 40 or more an hour and surgeons can make up over 80$ an hour if i remember right, but if your anything like me, being a doctor or lawyer was never in a list of my dreams.
