EDIT: Please not that up until Jad you dont actually need to use any prayer or food if you have a shield and keep up rejuvinate whilst using the safe spot. Using prayer helps against the Mages, but its not NECESSARY to use it anymore as they tend to hit pityful amounts. Getting up to a certain wave should be of no difficulty.
