    Clearing My Conscience

I'm not sure whether the circumstances which prompted me to create this thread are grave enough to warrant a high pardon, but I wish to clear my conscience either way. It's an issue that has been nagging me for some time now.

What I’m talking about concerns a trade which I made a month and a week or so (4.20.2010) or so after having joined Sythe (3.07.2010). I had just worked my way up to being able to pay for a purple partyhat ($40), and was looking to upgrade it to a yellow. I reasoned that the best way to achieve this, at the time, was to buy easter eggs and use those to facilitate an upgrade. So, I looked for someone with whom I could trade and stumbled across murakaruke.

I traded my purple + $20 for two of his easters (http://imgur.com/X9iRf.png), and thought that was the end of the matter.

Here is the original vouch, to confirm that I completed the trade:
In reality, though, that same day, eggs were available to purchase in the Grand Exchange (http://i.imgur.com/7dT4j.png, a picture taken by myself on 4.22.2010) Hence, I felt like I had been cheated out of my hard-earned partyhat as well as the $20 I had paid for the upgrade to the eggs.

As these were my very early days on Sythe, I had no means of obtaining Paypal cash other than to perform menial tasks for people who didn’t pay favorably. For this reason, this one bad trade constituted many hours of work and effort for me; and so it is reasonable to conclude that I was rather distraught and frustrated after seeing all of that work and effort go to waste. This coupled with the fact that phats began to rise like mad and that within a few weeks purples were selling on Sythe for upwards of double what I had paid for mine really led me to feel I had been scammed.

Having assumed this state of mind, I felt I had justified to myself the attempt at charging back my $20. I attempted a chargeback, and it failed. murakaruke edited his vouch to what it is today, a sad reminder of what I had done as well as a blemish on my otherwise clean Sythe history:
A few months later, I contacted murakaruke again and touched upon the subject of the chargeback with the intent to explain my reasons for doing so and to see how he felt about it. He blocked me before I was able to explain why I was talking to him about the matter though.

In retrospect, I realize this was obviously an unjust action for myself to take, but I cannot change what I have done. So in an attempt to clear my conscience of this matter, I ask that I be forgiven. It should be noted that no harm came of this event other than (arguably) to myself. My attempted chargeback failed and I did not pursue the matter after that. Also, to my knowledge, nobody else knows the circumstances of this trade and chargeback, and so I am coming out with this on my own behalf.

I have removed the vouch in question from my vouch thread (http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=6181016), and ask that, in the case of myself being pardoned, murakaruke’s edited vouch also be deleted.

    Clearing My Conscience

    I issued a TWC rank.

You may request a pardon in six months to attempt to remove the rank.
