Nate's ban

(not sure why this wasnt banned, but if whoever reads this would be kind enough to not ban it immediately so that I can respond more efficiently it would be appreciated, I wont view/post in/enter any other forums except this one to deal my my dispute)

Ill make it quick. I dont even recall when this happened, it was I believe within my first 2 weeks on Sythe. I attempted to sell a guide and got flamed for it, made a new account, and said on my thread that the guide worked. The thread was closed shortly after (gohan on top of guide sales, as usual), never even made any sales on the guide if I recall. Got temped for spam a bit later and spent some time reading through the rules, realized that what I had done was against the rules, and deleted the posts linking the two accounts in an effort to reconcile the mistake. Here is the picture of this account, notice the last time I logged in (I think this was when I went and deleted most of the posts)



Yes, I said on account A that a guide that account B was selling. Essentially a self vouch. As such, I broke the rules. My defense will be that sometime after, I deleted the posts since I realized that was against the rules.

Theres my story. Vouching for a guide that I never even sold. Since then I have MMed thousands in trades, and dealt with around $22k on this site (I was actually nerdy enough to start going through all my trade values), been one of the largest participants in the RS market, helped countless numbers of people, and been what I would imagine to be one of the more contributing non staff members of the site.

If the staff deems my ban to be warranted, then farewell Sythe, I will look back on my time here fondly and with no regret or grudges against anyone (nice work Spyike), I truly enjoyed every minute of it and will hopefully continue to speak with many of you.

If staff can however look past my initial mistake on Sythe, then I would be grateful and continue to contribute to the community as I have for the past seven months. Again I have no real excuse except for having a lapse of judgement. I cannot change the dumb thing I did doing my first few weeks on Sythe. No it wasnt malicious, it wasnt scamming, I never tried to hurt others. But it was a violation of the rules nonetheless, so I will respect the final decision.Thanks for reading.

I personally deem this dispute sincere and am willing to pardon Plznate. He may have self-vouched, but he has not scammed anyone and has contributed lots to the site. Other opinions?

 

I aswell find this dispute sincere and truthful and Nate has always been a good member of this site.

 

I feel Nate's contributions to Sythe outweigh this minuscule offense. I'm completely fine with an unban.

 

I agree with all of you; Nate's contribution to the site has been outstanding.

Anthony, seems you are correct. Just went through the old posts on this and I did in fact do it twice. (one of those posts is not a vouch, double check). In all honesty I simply forgot about the account and all things connected to it, which is why the last login for this account was almost 8 months ago. (If I were to have tried to lie about that 2nd one I would have gone and deleted it, but in order to maintain the integrity of this dispute I have made no changes whatsoever to this account). I never used either of the vouches, (check my vouch thread, I dont list it in my OP along with all my others) but yes, I did do it.

My point remains though, I broke the rules and am asking if it can be overlooked considering the past 9 months of contributions to the site. I know it was stupid, but I am still the same person today that I was yesterday MMing phat trades. The only difference is now that my stupidity of 10 months ago is now public. I appreciate the support from the posters so far and am truly grateful to them and everyone else who has posted support for me throughout the site.

I cannot change what I did before as a new member to Sythe. I can only hope that my honesty and good character throughout the rest of my time here can be enough to allow me to remain here. I will still respect staff's decision given the situation regardless of the outcome. Also thank you for not instantly banning this account so that I may continue my dispute.

 

Rules are rules, so I say your punishment should be a permanent ban.

My opinion might have been different if you brought this up yourself instead of letting a staff member discover it.

 

I respect that. I had considered it previously, but had seen several instances in which a good member was banned for professing to doing something against the rules, and skele had denied their dispute despite the honesty. If that is your opinion, I understand, and will (with much regret) respect it, and wont argue with it.

 

Seeing as we've had a contrary opinion, we can't reach a unanimous consensus now. As such, I've added a poll. Please vote. You needn't post if you don't want to.
