Request for a High Pardon - please read

    Banned member: http://sythe.org/member.php?u=282943

A few days ago I came online to find that I have been banned from Sythe. I was banned for "recovering accounts that aren't mine".
This is a screenie of the ban notice:

    Here's a screenie of the thread/post:

    and the thread link: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=9391530#post9391530

As you can see, I never actually said that I did recover accounts, but as FireZ stated, "intent is 100% of the law" and I do realize that now, but I had no idea that recovering old runescape accounts was actually against Sythe's rules. I got the idea of recovering them from a moderately trusted Sythe member, on this thread: http://sythe.org/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=508 and in the video in the thread it has recovering accounts as a good money making method, so I did have intentions of doing it, but I actually didn't do it. I do understand that intent is 100% of the law, but I really regret even thinking about it.

As you can see I am fairly trusted within this community and I've never scammed or hacked anyone. I would love to keep trading in this community, I really don't want to lose my Sythe account. In the time I have been banned I have not made any other Sythe accounts nor attempted to. In the past 7 months I have racked up over 60 vouches, made many many helpful guides for the Sythe community and have not had one scam report against me. I also have 850+ posts (mostly helping and contributing) and hopefully will still keep going.

I am very devoted to Sythe.org and I love the community and everything to do with it, I would do anything for an unban. I'm asking you MOD's and staff for forgiveness for a simple mistake that I made which will NEVER happen again.

Many of you staff may not remember me as I only just came back from a 2 month break from Sythe and Runescape. But please, even though none of you probably dont know me, consider this pardon.

I am willing to return to this community with a TwC, if necessary. Anything to be back at Sythe.

Given this user a complete ip check, and would like clarification on users: monkeyroker , MarkJ, and sweeet since they matched your ip address.

    http://www.sythe.org/member.php?u=293588 --markJ
    http://www.sythe.org/member.php?u=227382--monkey

None of these accounts are banned though.

Pardons are for users that have contributed inordinately to the site. Regrettably, I can't see that you have done and so don't consider you eligible of a pardon.

Upon reading the Stipulations Regarding a High Pardon thread I think we should have this go to vote.

    1) This account been created for at least six months and in good standing for six months. (If he was banned within theses six months this pardon should be deny instantly)
2)His vouch thread http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1034544 proved his activity was based in the market and reading through his post showed him to have contributed a decent amount to the market.
    3) He had respect last night for sythe staff over his ban in the IRC, and he admitted he was in the wrong and asked for a pardon/TWC for having the intent to scam.

Please correct me if i'm wrong but the user only have the intent of recovering accounts he never actually did it?

Lastly, I understand "issuance of pardons is solely at the discretion of the staff" although shouldn't us as staff at least hear sides of peoples whom are hardly known except by people he interacted with?

I'd have to disagree, Finn. I do not think that we should ignore users who havent specifically contributed alot to the site, because IMO, doesn't that just promote users deceiving us for longer until they gain a rank (such as OMM, or Moderator(which then will count as contributing to the site)) before submitting a high pardon? (which normally, guarantees them a pardon).

    No, we should not.

I still think that some staff are having difficulty in understanding the High Pardon concept, as originally conceived of by myself & Sythe. Every user has the right here on Sythe.org to post a dispute if they believe their ban was wrongly given. However, the notion that all pardons must be acknowledged and reviewed in the same manner as disputes is incorrect - High Pardon requests are a privelege for distinguished users that have contributed extensively to the site; they are not to be handed out sparingly. Rather, the High Pardon process allows the site to ''give something back'' to users that might have messed up yet have contributed widely to the site.

It is pure fantasy to suggest that one cannot contribute to the site extensively without being a staff member. I do not accept that argument at all.
