    Harsher penalties for abusive moderators.

They are supposed to be role models and set an example, at least, that's who i'd want to represent my site. They should be kind and professional and talk to people as if they were a customer, instead of treating them like an insignificant mediocrity who's pressing their luck by being here. Everyone that uses your site, even (if not especially) the newcomers, are what makes your site what it is and what it has become, and they should be treated as such. I don't think being a conetmptuous smart ass, and a straight arrogant tool is quite the way to go about holding a position of power. If you take this site seriously then take your staff seriously.

    Harsher penalties for abusive moderators.

If a moderator is abusing his/her powers, they'll most likely be demoted. Any specific example that you're talking about?

It's not really strong abuse, moreover ignoring members who they deemed better off not in existance.

I think sometimes people get forgotten as-well/let off the hook.

Only so many mods. + Real life = room for errors

This is what I'm talking about. Why would a moderator be flaming, reguardless of the situation. Theres alot of staff that act like this. It may be a bit contradictary on my part to bring this up, but we are users, and you are officials who are supposed to help and be courtious reguardless of how we are acting. You should act like telemarketers and always keep your composure no matter the situation. I'm not talking about moderators ignoring people, it's when they choose to make fun of/flame/suggestively belittle one of it's users. How unprofessional is that.

I honestly can't think of one current moderator (or admin) that abuses their powers at all. If any of them do it's for the greater good, and not just for personal gain, so it shouldn't be an issue.

For example, if someone made a thread/post that was just dumb/annoying/etc., but not really against the rules, but it was a nuisance to the community, and a moderator locked/deleted the thread/post, that would technically be considered an 'abuse of power', but it was for the greater good of the community so it is okay.

In the past there have obviously been staff members (or at least OMM's) that used their rank to their advantage and scammed, and that's obviously an unacceptable abuse of power.

    EDIT:
That picture shows nothing. We have no clue what you said to him for him to ask why about.

The WHOLE point is that it doesn't matter what I said. I'm not a Sythe moderator, but HE is.

    Edit:
I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to get across. The context in which I'm using the word "abusive" is loosely defined. When a moderator posts on this forum or sends someone a private message, they should be helpful, courteous, and professional with ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. They accepted the offer to become a moderator, which all users look up to as the support beam of sythe. They should present themselves as such.

Quit creating unnecessary drama. If you consider that response Karl gave you abusive then I'm worried about you. Staff don't need to kiss your feet, they need to enforce the rules and keep the forums clean in a professional manner. Keep in mind that this is volunteer work too.

I have spoken to many moderators of all kinds on this website and I can tell you that they have all been respective as long as you respect them equally.

I can clearly see that what you said angered him, however if the customer is bad, then why would the business (Sythe) want a bad customer? In which case his actions were justifiable, although he did phrase his sentence a little harshly.

I don't see a problem with his response as you have obviously edited out your remarks as they warranted his response.

    I completely agree with this.

I disagree. He said that in the nicest way possible, I'm sure. There are many other "harsher" ways he could have said it.

i think what he said what completely fine, he told you to "grow up please" so obviously you said something childish to him that he found annoying or insulting and he responded appropriately

Look at the picture, and look at the very last thing he said. Tell me what I would have had to say in those blanks to make what he said acceptable.

And this is just an example. All i'm saying is pick your moderators better, because some of them don't represent this site it should be represented.

Seems to me you where most likely wasting his time in some way and he kindly told you to grow up. In no way is that being abusive.

It would be fine if he was a regular user. No one is understanding my point. Moderators can't act like this because they are role models. The best way I an explain it is to think of it as if they are cops. Now when a cop goes to arrest you and you call him a "fuckin' pig" he's not going to lash out and say grow up, he calls you sir/ma'am and tells you politely and professionaly that he is going to arrest you.
This is a suggestion forum, and I'm suggesting that a moderator should act more like a professional. If you all don't think that's necessarry, then so be it, but I'm just sharing my view.

    EDIT:
You all are saying the same thing but you aren't understanding me. MY WHOLE POINT IS THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I SAID. NOTHING I COULD HAVE SAID COULD MAKE THIS BEHAVIOR ACCEPTABLE IN MY OPPINION.
