future of BTC

where do you think it will go?
die? go up or go down or stay 200-300$ in value?

 

it will control over all currencies for almost a century, afterwards everything will crash and it will only be gold and silver.

 

Slow decline until someone invents something better

 

What exactly would serve as a better alternative to BTC? I can't think of any desirable element that it particularly lacks for what it is used for.

 

what do you mean? nothing better can come out than BTC? strange. things progress lol

 

No... I'm wondering what drawbacks BTC has that could be improved on in the first place to make it obsolete.

I think it will eventually rise once it becomes more accessible to the less tech savvy population

 

Right now or soon it will go up and up again

 

If organisations create something similar which is monitored by governments, then BTC is going bye bye. It will still be around for those who wish to use it on anonymous transactions, but it will be devalued if the concept of cryptocurrency replaces physical cash.

 

I've made a few speculative posts about the future of BTC and the future is no where close to clear cut, but I don't see it sky rocketing back to $1000 ever again. It will probably hang around it's current price because it seems to find a pretty nice equilibrium at around $200.

 

I think it will continue to drop.

 

I don't think it has to be a currency. As a currency, btc is just fine. But I think the idea that btc embodies probably has wider implications than just for sending money.

 

yes i think it could be a worldwide currency one day and be worth more i think it crashed because china banned it

That has absolutely no benefit. What is the purpose of crypto-currency monitored and controlled by government? That's just called online banking, and I don't think it can compete with bitcoin.

 

Unless BTC is willing to adhere to Know your customer and anti money laundering regulations the currency won't succeed as many institutions and companies will back out from its use due to reputational risk. I could see it rise in the future if banks decide to work with btc but they won't until certain requirements are met and until then it will probably revolve around current prices or drop unless some sort of hype is built up.

Before the next halving (August 2016) we could see a rise.
