[1 Billion GP Prize]Sythe Gaming League- Season 1 Sign Ups! [Multi-game Tournament]

Hello all, now is your chance to sign up for the inaugural Sythe Gaming League, opening up with its first season!

The rules are simple, the season will consist of three main tournaments, Yu-Gi-Oh, Tankball 2, and Haxball (Order not yet been decided). The league will run on a point based standing system. Individual rules for games will be outlined when they are actually played, so don't worry about that right now.

Points in the 3 tournaments will be distributed like this:

1st Place- 15 points
2nd Place- 10 points
3rd Place- 6 points
Everyone else- 1 point (This point will be forfeited if the person was eliminated because of inactivity)

Points ARE cumulative, meaning that if you won Yu-Gi-Oh, but did not place top 3 in Tankball or Haxball, you'd be sitting at 17 points, assuming you actively participated in all 3 events.

Part 2: One on ones: A league member can challenge another league member to a "1v1" event of their choosing. This could literally be anything from a match of Fifa on Xbox 360 to a staking duel in Runescape. Be creative! You are capped at TWO 1v1 events a month, and you may NOT play the same person for the remainder of the League's season. This discourages any attempts at "boosting" points & encourages people to interact with different users.


Points system for 1 versus 1 events:
Winner: 3 points (so 6 total possible per month)
Loser: 0 points

Note: Each games tournament will likely last a month, meaning the league is projected to last 3 months. The one versus ones can help bolster a members points who might need help after a bad tournament, or might not be able to play all three tournaments due to availability issues.

1 Billion Runescape 3 Gold!

Prize distribution has not yet been finalized. I will definitely distribute prizes to the top 3, but I may base my dividing of the prize based on how close the standings actually are. For example, if someone won by 15 points, they'd get a lot more than 2nd place does. But if 2nd place only lost by 1 point, I may even it out a little bit more. Ultimately this will be at my discretion, but I'll make sure it is FAIR for everyone. It is also likely that EVERY competitor will get a small sum of GP as a token of appreciation for participating.

Reserving 2nd post in case I need to address any widespread questions.

This post will serve as a FAQ / Q & A post.

Question: What if it turns out a game isn't really conducive towards the Sythe League? For example, what if Tankball 2's servers are so bad that nobody can play?

Answer: We would need a majority vote of participants to say they want to do something else. If they did, a new game would be picked, and all potential points for the nullified game would also become null and void.

Question: Should we post to confirm any one on one match-ups and provide picture proof of finished match-ups, if possible?

Answer: Yes, please confirm 1 versus 1 match-ups PRIOR to them occurring. Pictures are good, but not necessary. They're a good precautionary measure in case someone is disputing a result, however.

Question: When can we start playing 1 v 1s?

Answer: When the first games tournament thread is created, and the bracket made, a 1v1 section will also be included at the bottom of the post. It will reiterate the rules of 1v1s and also serve as a hub for users to see who has done what. It will also be used to document who has played each other so I can keep track more easily of who has played who. There will be a deadline set as well, because only 2 1v1's per month are permitted. The time this resets is UNIVERSAL for everyone.

Question: I think my opponent cheated, they did x, y, and z.

Answer: Cheating will not be tolerated and any reports of cheating will be taken very seriously. If it turns out someone did cheat, they will be banned from the league, no questions asked. However, the evidence has to be compelling and overwhelming..I don't want to be banning people because they're making up stuff out of anger they lost.

Question: What are the exact rules of a 1 v 1?

Answer: Well, obviously, it is only between you and one other person. The rules, however, are set by the two people playing it. They must agree to the parameters of the match or session, and post on the tournament thread confirming they agree. Please refrain from editing posts that confirm matches, or I may be forced to nullify them (IE: Someone agrees, then loses and deletes or edits their post). If blatant and malicious enough, I could also consider this grounds for dismissal from the league. However, I doubt this will be a problem.

Let's run through a scenario of a 1v1 though.

I challenge Cas to a best of 7 staking duels on Runescape 3. Cas & I agree that a best of 7 format is what we want to do. We post on the thread confirming the event and the rules of the event. Cas ends up beating me 4 out of 6 times, so 4 being all he needs, he wins. He receives 3 points for his victory, which will immediately be reflected in the standings, and I am to receive no points as a result of losing.

Question: Will you be playing in the tournament?

Answer: No, as much as I would like to metaphorically be Pegasus playing in his own Duelist Kingdom tournament, I will not be participating in the Sythe Gaming League.

Question: Who sponsored your event?

Answer: Nobody, nor did I ask anybody to sponsor it. Perhaps sponsors will be used for later seasons, but this prize pool comes out of my own pocket. It's my way of giving back to the community.

Question: Will there be a season 2?

Answer: Yes, if this first season is a success, further seasons will be implemented.
