    What is your motivation?

    Hey everyone,

What is your motivation to keep returning to Sythe? What are the pros and cons and what would you change if you had the power?

I have noticed a slight increase in activity due to the CDT, which is good! I come here for the community, I love raising discussions and aspiring to become something within the community. I think if it weren't for the prople I wouldn't return to these forums on a daily basis.

If I could change anything, it'd be to have a greater user base and to weed out all vaders/scammers.. Which is near impossible -.-!

    Pros;
Great community, a hub for all trading needs, great staff (select few I would second guess), dont take shit from scammers/vaders, competitions, the CDT, the input coming from users, active and just an overall fun place to be.

    Cons;
Losing members to an extent, scammers/vaders, some staff I wouldn't agree with, users who immediately dislike others for no apparent reason "I've been here since 07, wtf are you doing here?"

Just my small, brief observation of Sythe as a whole, let me know what you guys think!

    What is your motivation?

My motivation always was and still is the community as opposed to the market, that's why I put a lot of effort in to trying to keep it going. Mainly the support section, which is what I was first promoted to moderate, because I relate to a lot of people there and have made some great friends because of it. It's harder to find people who've had similar life experiences to you IRL.

Cons would be that a lot of the userbase are hostile toward each other for no reason, nobody can start a thread without being attacked or an argument starting which is a shame. But it's the same on any social environment online these days.

    What is your motivation?

That's always good motivation, I see you all the time within the support section offering a helping hand. I think I've seen a rise within the support section with regards to people giving a supportive comment, I know I could go there and post a problem that would be answered in a supportive way.

Agree, agree, agree! I think it's the way of the human though, it's like going to a new school.. You'll always be picked on until you find a group where you fit in, 'tis something that cannot be changed, unfortunately.

    Thanks for the response, Roary!

    What is your motivation?

This is what really annoys me.. Even in the sandbox we have people ruining it for others and even staff members, it's honestly childish behavior and they're ruining the site for not just themselves but others, we should welcome new members not scaring them away.

I'm not a big time gold trader or anything, the most I'd ever trade is 200m so I'm not really sticking around for profit, although I do my little thing like sell memberships and it's enough to supply me with GP as I actually enjoy playing Runescape and that's the main reason I keep buying/selling so I can earn profit to skill my main.
I actually love making/entering new events and competitions for the community~ I'm glad I got put into the CDT so I can help out even more that's really one of the main reasons I keep coming back because I feel like I can help the community, make it more active and give others a reason to come back as well.

I don't really think there are any cons except for those who ruin it, who think it's fun to "troll" when someone is being serious, and of course scammers but those will always be a problem no matter where you go, just have to take it in your stride.

    What is your motivation?

I've met some great people on sythe, which in my opinion far outweighs all the sythe trolls. I keep coming back to sythe to help build the community and give advice to the newer members we get on the site. The only "business" I really have on sythe is my free middleman thread. I get plenty of new members asking me for help, and I'm glad to give it. It's also refreshing to see members like Chloe and Roary who give what they can to the whole community.

I'd agree with you ASAP, the trolling is more of a cancer on sythe than anything. There is a limit, you can have fun and mess with users but some of these trolls are relentless. It dissuades members from joining in discussions, making it harder to find longer lasting members.

Hopefully we can find someway to dissuade trolls from killing the community. However, the mods are still doing a great job keeping the community clean and I think sythe has a promising future.

    What is your motivation?

I stay on Sythe because of the community, if the community wasn't this good I wouldn't be around, which is also why I joined the CDT, to help as much as I can. The staff is great, but sometimes they don't listen to other's opinions (select few), which sucks.
What I would change? I'd change Town Hall to how it previously was (Suggestions, Feedback seperated), get rid of the PoE section, it's only there because 2-3 reputable members play it, remake off-topic section, get rid of scammers even though that probably is impossible :(, get rid of the pardon system for scammers, they should never be allowed back but keep it for people who are banned for other reasons.

Pros of Sythe: Good community, good market, good donation system, good staff.

Cons: Scammers, some of the staff members don't listen to other's opinions, pardon system for scammers.

Edit: I have also improved my English a lot on sythe, for which I am very thankful.

    What is your motivation?

The community dragged me back in again, it makes it pretty damn hard to leave when the community is the way it is. If I could change one thing about sythe? Well, nothing immediately comes to mind that would benefit the site.

    What is your motivation?

I may be new to this community, however in my opinion the cheap runescape accounts on offer, are extremely appealing. Inevitably, this has given me the incentive and the ambition to continue to actively engage with the community.

    What is your motivation?

My motivation is selling my items successfully and getting bigger in the community. There is also a new pair of Jordans coming out soon

What makes me want to leave is that at sometimes, no one wants to buy my items. I hate long conversations with evaders.

    What is your motivation?

I'd have to say my motivation is the community and LoL section. LoL section is my section. huehuehue.

Though, I'd like to see as I stated before, the staff being more interactive.

    What is your motivation?

I'd be lying if I said my original motivation to join wasn't money because I needed a summer job, but now I really want to become involved in the community. The quality members are worth wading through a few bad eggs along the way.

    What is your motivation?

Sadly most of what people considered a con are things that staff have the power to correct.

    My Motivation:
Cdt has been my big motivation as of late. I love the community inside and out of the market. Ensuring everyone has an enjoyable time on Sythe is my goal. My only con would be the trolls and the extreme aggressiveness between users.
