Please Note:
I will be collecting buy-ins but Video (OMM) is holding my GP for anti-scam measures until the tournament is over (confirmed on page 7). If I collect over the amount stored with Video I will arrange to deposit more with him.

We will be running a heads up bracket tournament! Basically, those registered will play a 1 vs. 1 match against another player. The winner of each game will advance to the next round and play the winner of another match-up.

Entry Fee: 10m (The faster you pay the buy-in the faster I can give you a match-up )

Total Current Prize Pool: 76m
1st Place Prize: 48m (60%)
2nd Place Prize: 20m (25%)
3rd Place Prize: 8m (10%)

Rules
- 10m must be paid prior to participating.
- You have three days to complete your match-up, otherwise you forfeit. If you do not warn me that you will not be able to play, you will not have the right to your GP back (it will be added to the prize pool).
- Your 1st round opponent will be determined randomly.
- You are responsible for arranging when you play with your opponent. Once you have done that, please tell me what time to schedule your game.
- All games MUST be played in the official club so that I can determine who won (to join the club read the text in red below).


Hello, for those casual and hardcore poker players on Sythe, here's a place where you can play Poker for RSGP! We all know poker is more fun when something of value is on the line .

I will be hosting regular poker games on Pokerstars.net, some for high-rollers some for those with a tighter budget. Most of the games we play aren't scheduled and are often organized when a handful of members are online at the time. Because of that, please add my MSN ([email protected]) as I have created a list of frequent players there which I always invite when games are going on.

Typical Game Rules (These are negotiable, just ask):
- Everyone buys in with the same amount of RSGP
- 1500 chips
- 10-20 blinds to start, they increase every 10 minutes to keep the game action packed
- You must play until you either win or lose, otherwise you automatically forfeit
- For small games it's usually winner takes all
- For Larger games 1st, 2nd and 3rd will take home a predetermined percentage of the prize pool
- Some games require you pay a small hosting fee on top of your buy-in which is split between any MM and myself (this is an incentive for me to maintain this )

How the Buy-ins work:
- If the stakes are small and all participants agree, the losers can pay the winner after the game is over
- I, or a more trusted participant can hold the buy-ins
- Alternatively we get a MM to hold onto the buy-ins

2. Launch Pokerstars and login
3. Go to "Home Games" > "Join a Poker Club"

As he mentions. he isn't trusted on the forums, so in order to do this he would need some kind of omm to hold the cash while the games being played. On those basis I'd be somewhat interested

EDIT-

for cash games it will be impossible to cheat, if each player has 1000 play chips, thats 2k max, if the total adds up to more than 2k someone has cheated besides, anyone doing it should be using some kind of recording software

 

Small update on this:

So far a couple members have joined, once we have a few more I will schedule our first game.

The first game will likely be for a few mil tops, maybe only a few 100k as I doubt most of you would be willing to risk that type of GP until I find a trusted member to host this.

This could potentially become a great money maker if we start taking a small rake from people playing. So if you're trusted and interested in hosting, let me know and we can make this happen.

And for those of you who think you can cheat, I have now realized it's very easy to track any increases in your chip stack and when I catch you, as mentioned in the OP, you will not have the right to your GP back. And thanks for the suggestion matt, I'll be recording the match as a backup.

 

This needs to be accepted by a moderator or it's going to get locked.

I suggest you build trust before trying this. Get active in the community and do some trades in the market to start off

Anyway, OP contacted me about hold the money for this and help hosting this.

For the first competition, I'm going to go with a 1-table sit and go for 100+10m. There will be 8 seats at the table and it will occur at Feb 12 at 5PM GMT -5

For those of you who don't know what a sit and go is:
-One table tournament where players all start with the same number of chips
-Buy-in is 100m + 10m fee
-Play until only one person remains
-Rebuys will not be allowed
-Payout: 1st- 50% 2nd- 30% 3rd- 20%

For the bunch of you that can't afford to play the 100+10m game, I will be hosting a game for much smaller stakes on February 11th at 5pm GMT -5 time. It'll be a 1m+100k sitngo tourny and Pockets will not be collecting the buy-ins due to how little GP is being risked.

Once again, I know I am not "trusted" but if you can't afford to risk losing 1m, you really shouldn't be gambling your GP in the first place. If another more trusted player would like to collect the buy-ins for the Saturday tournament, that's fine with me.

Cool idea. I would have joined but I have something planned during that time so I will not be around . Maybe once the ball gets rolling on this, we can organize dates/times so that 4+ people will be able to make it.
