Set up Ventrilo

This is the online dictionary description of Ventrilo: "Ventrilo is a proprietary Voice over Internet Protocol program with clients for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X."

In this guide, I'll show you how to successfully use Ventrilo and set it up.

Step 1:

Before you can do anything you need to download the program which can be located at http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php choose which version of vent to download, depending on your operating system.

Step 2:

Once that is completed and vent is extracted and installed click on it. The icon should look like this.

Once it has loaded a screen like this should apear:

Now for the trickiest bit of vent, choosing a user name and connecting to a server.

Click on the arrow next to were it says "User Name," then click "New."

A screen similiar to this should pop up.

Step 3:

Click on the arrow next to "Server," then you should come across a page similiar to this.

Click "New" and type in the name "Sythe Vent."

Once you've successfully done that, press "Okay."

Were it says "Hostname or IP" type in "calcium.typefrag.com," then were it says "Port number" delete "3784" and type in "27576," your page should now look something like this.

Press "OK" then when your back at the main page press "Connect," your page should now look like this.



Now that's done, you can either talk to people OR use a button to activate when you speak or not, which I highly recommend so people can't hear you breathing in the microphone, talking to your sister.. etc.

To do this you click on "Setup," then click on the box that says "Hotkey" and click on the button that you want to use as your voice key, mines ALT.
