How to shoot and score a Basketball shot [close by]

Ok we all want to be like this right?



But guess what, not everyone is that height or can jump that high, so we are just going to have to make do with what we have.

Lets start with an angle shot.

This is your typical backboard.


We want to shoot from about 45degree's from facing it from the front. Shown here:



And we are aiming for either the right corner, if you are shooting from right hand side, or left corner if you are shooting from left hand side, as shown in picture:



Here is how you throw the basketball (right handed): with right arm's elbow points towards the basketball corner that you are aiming for. Your left hand is there to guide the basketball and then you flick your right hand pushing the basketball up, hopefully for it to lightly tap off the backboard and into the net.



For left handed people it is pretty much the same, just reversed.

Also try jumping as you begin to throw to give you lift. In a game this helps prevent being blocked by others. As you see in the picture of Michael Jordan doing his shot, he has a massive leap so there is no way of the defenders reaching up to block him.

itwould help with verbal explanataions such as keeping shoulders straight =0 so that youre ball is more likely to go straight, and not TOO bad of a guide. 7/10.

Some effort was put into this guide, but it still needs a lot of work. I suggest that you go through first and do a spell check. Also, I suggest you read it aloud to yourself. There are some awkward/wrong phrases that need fixed. Such as :

Cropping the images you made yourself would also help. That giant white space is annoying on the picture you drew on.

My only final tip would be to maybe include some videos as support on how to make a proper shot.

It's a bit short. I think you should make the guide on "how to play basketball properly." Like, go into detail of how to shoot layups, freethrows, jumpshots, 3 pointers, the rules of the game, and sportsmanship. Oh, not to mention defense . Overall it's not bad, but I do recommend you add more to it.

I was thinking about it but i can't get most of my 3 pointers in, I'm not that pro..

 

So your saying you can just walk out there and go to exactly 45 degrees. I'd like to see that.

This guide was alright, I got taught the same thing in my grade 7 basketball team 3 years ago

this guide doesn't mention the basic fundamentals of basketball. 4/10.

you need to do/watch more basketball and see how great shooters like ray allen and shoot the ball. Watch clips of how larry bird and michael jordan shot the ball. your guide basically teaches on how to shoot/fail on a layup considering most people on sythe can't dunk which is irreverent to shooting

 

Tbh, this does not benefit people who are left handed as in the same method (in reverse) would have some difficulty as left handed people are not stable with their left as right handed people are with their right. As a left handed myself, This could not apply to both..

Not supporting that basketball shots could be made from both left & right hands, i give it a 3/10... A little bit put out, kinda stole some information from another location i bet. Would be better if you could further explains all the abilities and disabilities for people in both types of ways.

it must be hard creating a guide about this and i respect you for that, but lacks detail etc. but it is a hard topic, i would give 6/10.

 

next time include how to shot a jumpshot, not how to be like shaq. including footing and elbow positioning and etc

 

Even though there were pictures... you didnt really explain anything, It was more of a "do this and do that" kinda guide

 

You know nout about basketball? If you are shooting from close by then it is definitely not a layup since a layup is running towards the basket also my guide said nothing about dunking only that most people cannot do it so that is why you need to be able to shoot. Read my guide before you comment next time.

 

Keep trying, the only way to get better is to keep practising.

What kind of thing do you have in mind? in a guide showing you how to do something i thought it would be a "do this and do that" kinda guide?
