How to do basic grabs on a half pipe.​

This guide goes along with my other guide "How to skate on a half pipe" ​

1. For doing basic grabs you will need knee pads, elbow pads, wrist pads, a helmet, skates, and a half pipe. ​

2. Always wear your pads trust me I've broken several bones skating.

Now that you have learned how to drop in its time to start doing some tricks. The most simple trick is the grab. A grab is where you hold onto your skates in mid-air. There are many ways you can grab but lets start out on an easy one.


Start by dropping into the ramp. Do the basics of continuing like in the last guide and jump into the air. While the air depending on which way you are going you will grab different feet. If your turning right grab your right skate and if your turning left grab your left skate. Let go right before you land and line your self up with the ramp and go down it. ​

Now that you have done a simple grab you can start to learn a harder one. Drop into the ramp and go up it. You will need some extra air so crouch down while going up. Right before lifting your feet into the air jump into the air. While you're in the air lift your feet back like your about to touch your butt with your feet. Reach back and grab either foot depending on what is best for you. Now Put your feet back down and line yourself with the ramp. ​

This pictures uses Rollerblades instead of in-line skates.

Now that you've done some grabs you can try to do some others. Be creative. You can also twist around in a 540 but this is a bit harder.​
