Guitar Tips and Tricks[Harmonics & Squeals]

So you came here for the tips and tricks?
So you've heard many legends play and wondered how do they do it?
Theres actually many techniques that can be easily adapted that improve over-all playing. I will list some of these tips and tricks that with surely make you play like a f***ing metal head :]

#1 Squellies(Harmonic)
Have you ever heard some songs?
And theirs a giant irritating noise; but it
like sounds so cool and high pitched? Those are either Natural Harmonics or Artificial. If you ever heard Dragon Force songs you would know. So now that you know what a harmonic is its time to teach them to you.

The basic setup is have your back pick-up set on high volume. Or set it to that pick up and forget about it Such as this.

Now we go to your hands we will start with the natural harmonics.
There is a certain way for these natural harmonics. Natural harmonics speak for its self. You your pick and guitar making the harmonic. Nothing else in be tween.

For N.H.(Natural Harmonics) you have to hold the pick above avarage. You should hold the pick so only a little bit of plactic is sticking out. As so.

Aright we will try this note a couple of times. Third string twelth fret. Play it normally. Now when you play it a couple of times normally try to play it with your thumb slightly tapping the string. If you did it right you hear a slight error. As if you messed up the note. You did it right. Its just a high pitch. Now when that high pitch comes out. bend your strings. Now that should sound metal? Right

For A.H.(Artificial Harmonics) i only have one way of pulling them off. Witch is with the Tremolo system(whammy).
Now with the Tremolo to do it we will try this a couple of times. Play the 5th string opened a couple of times. Now After you play the string this time. Touch the string over the 3rd fret 5th string.
You should get a really irritating noise. Thats okay its like that. Now with the tremolo bar.



Everytime you play the 5th string open slightly push it down so the pitch goes flat. Now After you play the fifth string open and make it flat tap slightly the 3rd fret on the fifth string. You got a harmonic! Now pull the tremolo bar up! AHH IT WENT HIGHER?! Amazing right?!
