What to do if your Cell Phone gets wet or immersed in water

This is actually very common. I have alot of friends who have dropped their phones in a pool, jumped into a pool with their phones, and have even dropped it into a toilet. If this happens, immediately fish it out of the toilet or pool and wipe it up. Then, take out the battery and the SIM card if you have one, and dry those up to.

Once the battery is dry, water probably got into the phone. There are several ways to dry up the water inside the phone completely.



Method 1:
This may sound silly but it works, Get a container or bowl and fill it with UNCOOKED rice. Next, put your phone in the container or bowl and push it deep down in the uncooked rice. This should dry it up after a day.

Method 2:
Put your cell phone in an airtight bag with sillica packs. The sillica will suck up the moisture, and you can probably find them at camera stores.


Method 3:
You can also use a Blow dryer to dry your phone. Please note that toilet water is city water and when dried may leave contaminants on your phones circuitry. To remove this, you may go to a hardware store and buy denatured alcohol, Which is used to clean electronic parts.

wow, This happened to my cousin he didnt drop it toilet :S it got wet on tidle wave at thorpe park and didnt work, he sold it to this asian guy in town(phone dealer) for 50 pounds. This is prolly what he did!!!!

 

I usually use a hairdryer but ill definately try this next time
