How to tune a guitar without a tuner (3 methods)

I have played a guitar for a little under a year now, and I knew that as a guitarist noob having an untuned guitar blows.

    Method 1
If you have a tuned piano/keyboard at home and you aren't tone deaf this is for you! What you do is take the guitar and hit the key indicated in this picture for each of these keys and see if the guitar sounds the same, if it doesn't sound right then move the peg either counter clockwise or clockwise depending on how you stringed your guitar and whether or not your string is too high or low. Whatever you do if it starts getting too high the string might break. Listen carefully, you should do this preferably in a quiet room. Once it is satisfactory play some song or riff you know and if it sounds right gratz, if not you should know the song so you should know whether or not you need to go higher or lower.

    Method 2
This one doesn't really require a picture, unless you don't know what a fret is. Ok with this one you need to make sure your low E string is tuned. Starting with the 6th string (low E) the one closest to you, you play the 5th fret and then the next string down and it should sound the same. If not tune the next string (not the one you are pressing) until it sounds the same. Repeat this process til you reach the tuning of the 2nd string (2nd to last from the bottom) instead of the 5th fret use the 4th. Then 5th again, and you are done. Once again play a familiar riff or song, if it sounds right gratz, if not since you know the tune figure out what's wrong.
    Method 3
This method you must know a bit about guitar and tunes. Well this is the easiest to me, its where you play any scale, preferably C scale, because it's the easiest. If you don't know how to play it I'm gonna be nice enough to write the tab.
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------0---1----0----------------------
    -----------------------0--2---------------2--0----------------
    ----------0---2---3----------------------------3--2-0---------
    -----3--------------------------------------------------3-----
    --------------------------------------------------------------

There it is, it should sound like going from low to high, you'll recognize it. Then you tune accordingly. This is my preferred method because I can hear very well and it is easy. But usually I use my effects pedal to tune it most accurately. :)
    Please comment. Thanks.

1)"If you know HOW to play guitar you can do it by ear, if you don't then you have no business TUNING a guitar."

2)"Play a B flat scale, tune, then a C then play any popular tune you know to test it, thats what i do.."

 I wonder where i heard them quotes from? lol

Good layout, great us of picture's.. Well done.

Not too bad of a guide I guess, but people will stille most likely get a online tuner to tune there guitar until they can do it by ear as it is still easier then doing any of the 3 ways you specified.

True, but I think this is better because I have to tune my guitar when I'm away from computers, tuners, etc. This has helped me a lot, and I wanted to show some people how to do it, considering i know many ppl that have a bunch of old untuned guitars laying round..
