2 Problems - Firefox C+ Runtime Error - Windows does not Update

When I browse in firefox and I view a video in wmv firefox crashes with this error, not really sure what is causing it and I scanned my computer with kaspersky and Ad aware to see if a virus was the cause.



The next problem is that windows updates fail, not a single update will install no other error than these components failed to install (or w/e).

 

I would say install the new firefox (version 3) I had the same problem a couple weeks ago. I un-installed firefox, then installed firefox 3.

 

Try disabling all your plug ins for Firefox or running in Firefox Safe Mode. As for updating windows, that's a separate problem all together. I would check Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services and makes sure automatic update is enabled. Try deactivating, then reactivating all services regarding updates, reset your comp, and see if things work correctly.

 

well may you cannot update as your windows is not genuine?

 

It is genuine, and I am using FIREFOX 3

 

uninstall, and reinstall it, reboot your computer, if that does not work, then try opening it from the folder in your windows files, instead of from your desktop icon etc.
