\+/My E-mail is being spoofed- HELP PLEASE\+/

Someone is currently spoofing my email address ([email protected]) and is asking my customers to add msns that are not mine, one customer has already fallen for this and 2 have questioned me about suspicious emails they have received from me. This is causing a huge amount of damage to my firecaping and so I would like to know the following:

1. Can I find out WHO it is that is spoofing my email?
2. If so then HOW do i find out who is spoofing my email?
3. And finnaly is there any legal action I can take/ authority I can report it to?

Because it's hotmail which is free, there might not be anyway of tracking whos spoofing you because theres probably someone called "[email protected]" out there.

There is no way to stop this, except to contact the host.

Ask one of the people who received a spoofed email to look at the headers, and to send them to you. Post it here, or look for an IP address in the headers. That IP of the host being used to send the mail will be what you need.

After you have the IP, contact the host, and hopefuily, if they are not cheap and or annoying, they will look it up, and stop who's doing that. But that's rarely ever happened.

There is no other way to stop spoofed mail. It's way too easy, and anyone can do it.

 

Just tell people to ask you for a pm before a trade so they know its you, theres no way to stop imposters

or simple change your msn to like something different from your sythe user name and have people pm you for it.
