I drank a fifth of Absolut Vodka (80 proof) over the course of about 10 minutes. He wouldn't have died from that, especially because he's German!

It actually all depends on the proof of the drink. For example, 'Pucker' is 30 proof. While Absolut, Popov, etc.. are all 80 proof.
