Well, he doesn't really admit it, per sec, he just pardons himself of being one.

But honestly, this is madness. The President should not be able to pardon himself of any crimes committed in the past or future.

 

I agree Shredderbeam, Just because he's president doesn't mean he should be pardoned from crimes that he has/will commit.

I once read about a case where a judge was "judging" a trial and then was asked to remove himself because he was being byast to the defence but he himself was allowed to choose whether he should choose to leave or not and he stayed so therefore, a man that commited 10 murders was allowed to go free and then went on to kill another 3 people before finally commiting suicide.

 

I'd say he's admitting it.. As far as I'm concerned (and lots of other 1337 peopel ie: Naomi Watts) he is a war criminal, and should be imprisoned right along with Dick Cheney.

He shouldn't be allowed to pardon himself, as Darren said. In my opinion, that is similar to any president or dictator of any country to pardon themselves for any bad-doings.

 

Agreed. ust know that dictators don't even have to bother pardoning themselves.. I guess you could almost say Dictator= God of a country. Since when has God apologized for anything?

I also agree with shredder. Bush shouldn't be able to pardon himself as being a war criminal. When is anyone ever allowed to pardon themselves or something similar of any crime. That's basically just saying i'll do something illegal and pardon myself later for it. For those reason this bill really shouldn't pass.

On to bush being a war criminal. I don't believe he's is completely a war criminal. Though i believe he has done criminal acts in the past, obviously he at least thinks he may be a war criminal if he's trying to pardon himself.

 

He may not be sure, so he could be trying to save his ass, incase he really is a war criminal. I mean you expect our current president to know what the hell he's doing?

 

I don't exactly see anything wrong with it, he had terrorist detainees tortured basically, and doesn't want that coming back to haunt him. For all we know we might of obtained some good information from some of them. Even if we didn't, there was that chance that we might have.
This is war, terrorists get killed, you don't see the soldiers getting arrested for that, why should the president?

Were you not aware of the controversy over what is to be considered torture? I don't know anything about the bill, but it's likely to appease those who disagree with the current treatment. And to probably further bury the controversy, it asks for a pardon of possible torture related crimes (if people end up considering those acts crimes). So you'd be an idiot to say that he is practically admitting to it. And you did, and you are.

 

It's not a pardon for torture related crimes, it's a pardon for war crimes, the he has, is, and will commit. So I'm the idiot?

 

Where did you get your information? Obviously not from that video. He clearly says it will "pardon Bush and all the members of his administration of any possible crimes connected to the torture and misconduct of detainees dated all the way back to Sept. 11th 2001".
So unless you have other sources, you are indeed an idiot.

To add to that, most people who "bash" him, are either too young to understand politics, too ignorant to understand politics, AND "bash" him because "everyone else" is "bashing him", and why is "everyone else" "bashing" him? Because they're ignorant too. That's how great our country is..

 

Agreed. The young people "bashing him" are merely talking about what their parents believe. It's the same thing with religion, most kids get brought up around it and have their parents talk about it constantly, so they start to believe it the truth without using an opinion of their own, just ones their parents formed.

I do not agree with everything bush has done, but I think people get a little too overworked and paranoid about "conspiracy's" going on with the president. It's as if Americans just need something to bitch and riot about. Also, all I have heard is "bush is a war criminal ZOMGZOMGZOMG YOU'RE A SHEEP ZOMGZOOOOOOMMG"

Don't get this worked up about politics, it only starts fights No one should care what opinion you have about a president. Think hes a lieing war criminal? Things happen with a little work you know... not that I'm saying join one of those freaky extremist groups, but you know...

Also, even if most of the prisoners were tortured, they sawed journalists heads off with a knife and a chain saw and a ton more. Don't argue with me about whats politically correct please, because I am sure that is a comment that shall send shredderbeam on my ass.

Secondly, MOST prisons in Iraq the soldiers were GOOD to them. My Dad went to iraq as a journalist, and he said that the prisoners would THANK the soldiers for putting them in jail. He even brought home pictures of the soldiers handing out stuff to the kids. Please stop focusing on what the media tells you, mainly because they focus on everything bad that goes on in Iraq because the good points would not make an "interesting" story to people. Secondly, look at who bush was running against;morons.

Look at who hes been catching;terrorists. Look at who BILL CLINTON WAS TOO AFRAID TO CATCH; terrorists. He should have kicked their ass a long time ago.
