    Personal Problems

I sit down at the end of school outside next to my mum, watching her. She takes one puff after another of what will effectively lead to a premature death. I think to myself: "why?".

Everywhere, I see people smoking. EVERYWHERE. Recently, there has been a battle in my mind. I'm going to be completely honest. Once I want to know something that is possible to be known, I will persue that question until I find the answer. If I ignore that question, my head whirls, I can't think, I can't concentrate, I can only think about it. I couldn't take it any more, so I decided to find out why my mum, and why indeed do so many other people smoke.

I go in to the bathroom with a cigarette and lighter to find out the answer to my question. After one puff, I'm practically choking, so I drop the shit that makes a lot of peoples lives "relaxed" in to the toilet and flush. Nothing noticable has happened, and apart from my lungs being filled with smoke, I feel absolutely fine. My question has not been answered. I try again twice, but to no avail.

My parents get home, and guess what? The butts have been washed back up the S-Bend, and in to the toilet again. My parents ask, "why", and well, I have one answer for them: "Why is the question you should be asking yourself, Mum.". She sends me to my room, and I gladly go. I'm mad as hell right now, and I need to vent. I've told them the truth, the least I deserve is an answer to my question in return.

I feel like shit at the moment, and I need to vent. Sorry if this seems like spam, but I feel it needs to be said. Why? I'm not the type to cry, but if I was, then I would be. What are your thoughts on the situation? How should I handle this? And how can I ever get over the fact that my own mother is going to effectively end up killing herself with cancer that could have been avoided?

I smoke. eventually we all are gonna die anyways, just because you smoke doesnt mean you die earlier. You might just get run over by a car tomorrow, smokers will still smoke.

Situations like this are so hypocritical.

A mother, and or father is a role model to their child.
Or at least they should be.

Stay calm and collected. You're right.

Ok... so it ruins your lungs, skin, and teeth... makes you smell...
And you have to pay a significant amount of money and time to get these results.
Smoking is very logical. GJ moron.

He doesn't, and from what i've picked up about his character, I doubt he ever will.

Smoking is an awful thing. It is a breach of other peoples health, as the person who is smoking passively, due to an active smoker has no authority over whether he or she passive smokes.

The passive smoker does not give authorization to smoke passively, but instead is forced. This is why I think smoking is so wrong.

And luckily for you, I was shedding some of my insight. But seeing as you're insisting on continuing to be a moron, perhaps a short life is good for you.

That's not a good justification, nor a good option of what to do if smokers are around you.

Smoking in England has recently been banned in Public Places.
This excludes streets, and anything on them.

This only includes the inside of public buildings, pubs, for example.

However, my favorite example is, for example:

I'm sitting at a Bus Stop, waiting tentatively for a Bus. The Bus is vital for me to catch, and I cannot miss it. I need to be there when the bus arrives.
A smoker is sitting next to you. You have no authority over whether the smoker smokes around you, but he has the authority to damage your health.

Non-smokers should not have to move away from smokers.
If you're out with a group of friends, and they are smokers, should you move away from them? Of course not.

There is NO correct justification of smoking, so stop trying to construct them.

Just ignore it, but if you cae that much tell you parents to stop. Or at least try to make a calm attempt at it.

I Smoke, And I Don't Think It Was A Good Thing. Started When I Was 10 Just To Know What It Was Like, Now Im 14. I Got Scouted For Newcastle United Football Club ( I Support Them ) When I Was 13. I reckon I Might Have Made It If I Could Run For Longer. It Hasn't Affected My Speed. But I cant Run For Nearly As Long As I used Too be Able To. My Mum And dad Don't Smoke. Just My Brother.
But I Just Wanted To Know What It was Like. Now I Wish I Never Started
Hmm By The Way ' WOW Sucks ' I think Thats Harsh. Just Because Most People Who Smoke Are Weird Some Aren't....
