hmm.. is netgear a router maybe u can maybe try accessing it look in your user manuals there should be an address that they provide you to connect to router website or just reset your router,You must have admin privilleges to access it.

or maybe u can fool your internet by typing www.runescape.com. with a dot at the end it works for me at school lol so it should work for you.

I don't know much about NeatGear Firewall. What if you boot in safemode, and try to connect in that (as the program won't initialize).

Turn your hardware acceleration right down if your going to play RS in safemode. To turn hardware acceleration down, simply go to your desktop and enter properties. Once in properties click, settings, then click advanced. After your in advanced you'll see a "Troubleshoot" tab along the top. Click on it. Once in there, you will see an acceleration tab. Turn the tab right down to None.
This will not make RS lag free whilst in safe mode, but it will make it a lot better.

It all depends on how your dad put up the lock, as some said, try using a proxy, the client won't go thru the proxy so if your father didn't lock the 2 runescape ports you should be able to play (the client will connect to the chosen world site and thru other ports than the usual 80).
Another solution, try perhaps using their ipadress [64.37.71.203] .. who knows might work :)

If you need good proxies use Peace Fire. I still think that if worse comes to worse, safemode will work.

ok if your behind a router then find the router and look for the "Reset" button or if you cant find it or something similar pull the power cable (make sure nobody is surfing the internet so at night would be good) and wait for about 30 seconds then plug it back and hope your dad doesnt check the router regularly.

And for future reference you really need to specify how your network works (ie direct connection with a software firewall or your in a network with a router or some other networking hardware.)

System Restore may not work but try accessing your router and changing the settings.

If your dads a "firewall/IT specialist" theres not much that you can do other than hack his computer but i'm sure he'll notice. So my advice, Beg
