    I "hacked" garry's mod 9
    i made garrys mod 9 run with out half life 2. i just have the 1.6 package and cs:s , dod:s and hl2:dm

    imade a shortcut and i put this for the target: C:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 320 -game "C:\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9"
    and this for the start in: C:\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9

    I dont think that this is possible, you need a game that runs on the source engine to run Gmod. But seeing as you have HL2:DM (which is a source engine game) you did not hack this, you just made it out that you did.
