Bank Transfer Questions

So I was just in a deal with someone. The payment was via Bank Transfer, 8-9 days later and I haven't received the money.

I go to my bank, and they have no records of the tracking number, they gave me the number of their main office which I called and I was soon notified that they don't do transfers from Norway. Prior to calling the main office, my bank said if it doesn't reach me it would get refunded.

My question is how long would it take to get refunded? And does the sender's fees get refunded? It's just odd that neither our banks notified us that it doesn't do Bank transfers with each other, after we told them where it was coming from and going to.

 

Usually it's around 3-5 working days with my bank, but I'm with natwest.

 

3-5 working days. Fees don't usually get refunded though.

 

I'll take it you both mean 3-5 days for the money to be refunded, after when the money was supposed to be received.

It also depends on what type of transfer he did, on my online banking I can do a fast transfer or a normal slow transfer. Obviously fee's are different, best bet is if he can ring his own bank.

I did the normal method that was 3-5 day, I have been at bank and they said when the money is out of my bank account there Is nothing they can do. So hopefully Ill get It back after a few more weeks lol.

 

Ah, so your money is pretty much stuck in limbo until it finds its way back to you. How much was it.

Ah that sucks it will find its way back soon, you got to remember its the weekend soon and money doesn't usually appear until Monday so should be sometime next week.

 

International transfers From Eu banks to any non Eu banks can take up to 21 days to get to you, So yeah not wise to deal with international transfers, without checking for sure that it will reach a Foreign account in the time you agree on.

 

When I sendt the money I had to choose what country Apith lived In and It said he will recive It within 3-5 days. :S

 

Pretty gay its the year 2013 and its still so hard to send money internationally. Also the cost.

 

Always better to phone your bank and check first, Because it may be 3-5 Days to certain banks in His country, and up to 21 in other banks in his country, Also its not the best choice to send international transfers online, better to do it over the phone so you can ask all the questions you have to the clerk and make sure everything is in order.

 

3 weeks? I found out my bank didn't even accept BT from Norway lol.

 

Yep, some don't that's why its always better for both parties to check with their banks
