Add to donor FAQ about direct donations

Today, I became a donator for $25 (actually $35). I was not aware that you could donate directly if you met a certain criteria. This is not stated anywhere in the user center found here: http://www.sythe.org/usercenter/home.html, as far as I know.

Please add a QA to the FAQ about direct donations. I could've saved some of my money or donated more money to sythe if I had known that you could do direct donations.

I think it's rather important for potential donators ($5 donators) to know that they can donate directly and benefit sythe for the better.

Ways to make it more clear that you can donate directly.
1. In the automated donation message you receive after donating, include that you could donate directly. The only problem I see with this is that it doesn't help new users who wants to donate.
2. Include a QA in the userpanel FAQ about donating directly.

If both could be implemented, that would be great!

PLEASE NOTE: I am not suggesting to change the current donation system OR the current requirements to donate directly. I am simply asking for more visibility on how to donate directly.

 

I think this should be added onto the automated pm's that are sent when donating through a bond holder as users have to donate through bond holders for their first time.

If this is put in a sticky or the user center it will just be ignored

 

Please do this, it'd help soooo many new users.

I didn't actually know that I can donate myself if I met a certain criteria and I thought all donations will be done through bond holders. I'd probably donate more when I reach 100 posts.

 

Both would be great, I think it should atleast be put in the user center so users know they could donate $5 and save the rest to donate directly when they meet the criteria. As well, I don't think Sythe donation system is very common and users would expect to be able to donate directly at first, so it's something they would look for.

I thought the same until I saw Bogla donated over 7k. I would've had tears in my eyes if he had done it through bonds.

 

Easy fix. As Shia LaBeouf said, just do it.

 

No support. Sythe has bond holders for a reason. This will make it easier for newcomers to bypass bond holders and that won't benefit Sythe.

You could have gotten that rank for much cheaper by pming me.

 

He's not asking to change anything as it stands, just to make the available options clearer

 

They are donating to benefit Sythe lol. It won't benefit the bondholder though

 

I support this, I wouldn't have known about direct donations, my friend told me if i donated $5 i could directly donate. It isn't stated anywhere and it should be.

 

Naxious I think Moes might be talking about how if it was more widely known sythe would be more vulnerable to chargebacks because people would just:

>pay $5 through bond holder
>spam 100 post counts
>Wait two weeks

>Donate $300 to sythe themselves
>scam $300 or more
>chargeback sythe's paypal.

 

That is a problem with the criteria requirements, not visibility/clarity (which is what this suggestion is about). The issue you are talking about still exists regardless if this was known to people or not, my point is that theres like literally no information on this on the userpanel (where people donate). I could only find it on one thread with a google search using simple key words.

... that makes no bloody sense guys. They ARE the requirements so it should be clear. If you don't like the requirements then that's a separate suggestion.

I like bleuskittle suggestion. He was nice enough to at least tell me I could directly donate later down the road once I met the other reqs.

 

I don't think many people actually read those PM's in their entirety. Just listing the options on the usercentre I think would be more beneficial, but that's just me.

 

This. I doubt anyone would read the entire PM.
