[Guide] Ways to avoid xbox 360 ring of death.

Loveable's Avoid Red Ring of Death Guide For Xbox 360.

Right to start off this guide is 100% created by me and all rights are mine.

Step one.

Keep your xbox lying on the floor, this does not mean stand it up ect. ( as some people are wierd )
While lying on the floor or on the tv unit make sure all the wires are tidy and not cramming up with the xbox to stop air getting the airholes.

Step two.

Make sure the ATV Scart adapter, and powerpack are definatly plugged in properally. This can cause failur to the xbox's
graphic drive which sends the xbox beserk.
; Make sure this is plugged in at all times to avoid dissapointment.

; Make sure these atv caples are 100% consealed in the adapter.


Step three.

It is recommended every 1-3 days that you clean your xbox thoroughly, for dust, sticky messes, drinks spilled ect.
Doing this will alow the fans to beathe properally without being drowned in dust,drinks & other resources like these.
Just simply get some polish and give it a scrub with a cloth or a tea-towl.


Step four.

Buy your self a extra fan cooling pack, may not have the money but trust me there quite cheap and VERY effective.
You can pick them up for around £30.00 ( 60.00$ ) And this is just a extra precuation taken when avoiding the red rings.

I"ve had the RRoD,

Not fun.

I had to send it in and such, it wasn't on warranty, but they said since at the time there were many reports of the RRoD, they would send me a new one.

I kinow have a cooling unit, etc.

Actually. from what I heard the fan can be bad.

The fan run's opposite of the fan in your xbox, theirfore it could endanger your xbox even further then it already is by interfering with the internal fan. This is what I heard I will have to look into this.

Otherwise, I like the guide, I have had 2 red rings of death before. simply fixed by pulling out my hardrive and put it back in. no problems since.

I like it.

pretty helpful , but they just need to fix the 360's the original xbox's were sweet, unlimited memory and they hardly every broke and all they needed was HD

 

I understand where you are coming from, but as im a xbox addict, i can assure you that they have fixed the fans and updated them with the same rotation as the 360.

 

IM sick to death of people whineing and RoD lol. No offence , who in the right frame of mind , wants do dodge having a bricked xbox :huh: and my only answer to that is go buy a ps3 ^_^

 

bigthing with step 4 if you call up and need to send your xbox do not tell them it had the external cooling because it voids the warrenty

 

Yes i know, but thats why the fans lower the risk of getting RoD

 

I've had a xbox since the first day they came out. Just got the red ring Shiped it Sat. and its shiping back and should be here thurs. I guess its a good guide though 7/10

 

Never had problems with my xbox 360 had it for 1-1.5years

I called Xbox support before, they told me it has nothing to do with overheating 0.0, im so confused now.

Good guide. I've fixed the rrod twice by wrapping my xbox in a towl and turning it in for about 15 minutes. Then unwrap it & turn it off until it cools down.
